Michael James Johnston, a REALTOR(r) from Pocatello, Idaho, was the 2006 President of the IDAHO ASSOCIATION OF RELATORS(R) (I.A.R.), "The Voice for Real Estate in Idaho," is one of Idaho's largest trade Associations, representing more than 9,000 members involved in all aspects of the residential and commercial real estate industries.

In 2005, Johnston was IAR's President-elect.

In 2004, Johnston was IAR's First Vice President.

In 2001-2003, Johnston was IAR's East District Vice President.

Johnston, a REALTOR(r) since 1992, is the Broker / owner of The Home Specialists Real Estate Company in Pocatello, Idaho.  He is a Graduate of the REALTOR(r) Institute (GRI) and has earned the Certified Residential Broker (CRB), the Certified Residential Specialist (CRS), the Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR),  and the Accredited Buyer Representative Manager (ABRM) designations.

Johnston has been active on various IAR committees, serving on the Today's Technology Task Force, Forms Committee, Convention Committee, Business Development Key Result Group, Public Policy Key Result Group, REALTORS(r) Political Action Committee Trustee, REALTOR(r) of the Year Committee, and the Real Estate School Task Force.  He also served as the dean of the Idaho REALTOR(r) Leadership Accademy in 2005 and in 2007.

Active at the National and local levels as well, Johnston is a past president for the Greater Pocatello Association of REALTORS(r).  He was named "REALTOR(r) of the Year" by the state Association in 2000 as well as by the Greater Pocatello Association of REALTORS(r)  in 2000.  He was named the Certified Residential Specialists' CRS of the year for Idaho in 2000.  He was honored with the "Omega Tau Rho" from the National Association of REALTORS(r) in 2000.

Johnston and his wife, Shannon, reside in Pocatello with their five children.
